To make our next MiXER the best event it can be, we've rescheduled it. The MiXER will now take place on Friday, May 12th.

If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time. We'll host another invigorating drum circle (drums will be provided, and beginners are welcome) and spend quality time networking and enjoying each other's company.

When you book a music lesson with JOYiZM, you can find the link to the online event under your booking history on the JOYiZM website.

On the website, hover over your profile image and click My Account, then click Booking History. Find the booking of the music event and click View. You'll see a button that says "Join Online Meeting."

Click that meeting to launch Teams and greet your wonderful instructor.

Before joining, go to Settings > Devices > High fidelity music mode and switch the toggle to on. There will be a checkbox underneath it for echo cancellation that is enabled by default. This will allow your instructor and classmates to hear your instrument.

Starting this Sunday, we're hosting weekly nature hikes for all JOYiZM members! They will take place Sunday mornings, and we'll change locations every week to discover new and exciting environments.

You can walk, jog, or run as you explore the beautiful landscape and the awe-inspiring wilderness of the Bay Area.

JOYiZM nature hikes will be free, because the experience of nature is priceless. Especially in the company of our wonderful community members.

This week, we will be meeting at the Alameda Creek Regional Trails. Please be on time at 7:45 am Sunday morning.

We've got more great news: we're starting a new series of JOYiZM events—music lesson packages. A skilled teacher will lead all lessons, which will conveniently take place online. Here are the initial choices you'll have:

Signing up will simple: you'll just go to JOYiZM.com like you're booking any other activity. When you choose your instrument, you'll get a package of eight lessons for that instrument—enough to make some progress and start enjoying yourself.

Good news!

Since we have not received enough sign-ups, we are extending the registration window for our new Badminton Members League. Now, you have until the end of September to sign up, and the league's start date will be pushed back to October 15th.

During league play, members compete in singles or doubles badminton matches on a dedicated court. Players schedule games and report results—and can track standings with a mobile app. It's an exciting way to enjoy friendly matches that count for something. There will be prizes too!

We have now published more than 5,200 photos from the Summer Badminton Tournament on Facebook! These beautiful, professionally shot images capture what JOYiZM and our tournaments are all about: celebrating, winning prizes, making memories, and forging friendships.

This July 30th and 31st, we're hosting our Summer Badminton Tournament—we hope you're excited!

Like our first tournament, it will be doubles vs. doubles. Teams can be made of male-male, male-female, or female-female pairs.

A member of our organizing committee (name concealed for special reasons) proposed an innovative idea to help members find a partner at time of registration. Two choices:

1. If you already have a preferred partner, you can sign up as a duo with a team name on the website.
2. If you don't have a partner, you can register as an individual and select "find me a partner"—we will have a random draw and pair members that way.

In June, we will draw names and notify all participants of their pairings.

We'll also follow up with details on prizes. The good news? Winners will get even bigger and better prizes than they did at our first tournament.

JOYiZM celebrates the women who make everything possible. The lights of our lives, who imbue our labors, our personal growth, and our families with the deepest meaning and most profound love.

Some of the world's most impressive trees grow in Northern California. And like a growing tree, JOYiZM is branching out. This month, we're adding weekly Saturday dinners and weekly Sunday outdoor workouts.

For exercise, don't worry about being in great shape. Our instructor will lead bodyweight exercises adapted to each participant's skill level. It's called high-intensity interval training (HIIT), but it's adaptable everyone.

Starting April 16th, we will hold our weekend tennis lessons from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at De Anza College. Now you don't have to wake up early to get your practice.
